VANCOUVER SUN — Two of Canada’s largest winemakers said Thursday they are going to change the labeling of their bulk import wines in response to consumer backlash over selling them as B.C. wine.
They never intended to mislead consumers, John Peller, president of Andrew Peller Ltd. and Eric Morham, president of Vincor Canada, said in an exclusive interview with the editorial board of The Vancouver Sun. New label concepts are already in the works, they said.
“We’ve heard the feedback loud and clear,” said Peller.

Let’s hope the LCBO go the message as well… that’s also a large part of the ‘misleading’ labeling.
This proves that the Monopoly does not care about us Consumers, and they would do whatever to avoid confrontation with the local wine industry
It sure took a lot of complaining from many quarters over a year to get the big players to change! Let’s hope that the labelling changes on the bottles also include changing ‘Cellared in Canada’ signage in all Ontario and BC reatil outlets as well. Nothing is cellared here in Canada, it is just bulk bottled! Oh, and congratulations to Wine Align for creating a separate region on the website so we know where to find real Canadian wines!!
